Therapy For Seniors

Aging brings meaningful transitions — retirement, health changes, loss of loved ones, shifting family roles, and increased isolation. At Therapy by Dr. Gupta, I provide specialized therapy for seniors who are navigating these life changes.

Older adults often face unique emotional challenges, including grief, anxiety, depression, loneliness, caregiver stress, and adjustment to medical or mobility concerns. My approach to geriatric mental health focuses on compassion, dignity, and empowerment. I create a safe, supportive space where seniors can process life transitions, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with a sense of purpose.

Through one-on-one counseling for older adults, we work together to:

  • Process grief and loss

  • Manage anxiety and depression

  • Navigate retirement and identity changes

  • Cope with family or relationship stress

  • Address isolation and loneliness

  • Strengthen emotional well-being and quality of life

My goal is to ensure that seniors feel heard, valued, and supported in this stage of life.

Support for Caregivers & Families in NY

I also support adult children and family caregivers who are navigating complex emotions while caring for aging parents. Caregiver burnout, guilt, and decision fatigue are common — especially in fast-paced environments like NYC and surrounding areas.

If you are concerned about the safety or well-being of a loved one in assisted living or a nursing home, educational resources may be helpful. The Nursing Home Abuse Resource Center provides information on recognizing signs of neglect or mistreatment and understanding available options:

Therapy can provide a confidential space to process concerns, explore next steps, and manage the emotional toll of caregiving decisions.
